INTRODUCTION:
The Department of Kayachikitsa is established in the year 1947 and is one of the major clinical department of the faculty.Since then the department have achieved several milestones in various aspects of treating the disorders including rheumatology, metabolic disorders, general vatavyadhis, respiratory disorders, skin diseases in a very short span of time. The department successfully initiated the Post Graduate Studies in the year 2018 with an intake of 7 seats per year.
The Kayachikitsa OPD TGAMC&H runs with an average of more than 70-100 OPD patients on a daily basis . With 43 beds allotted in IPD,daily around 45-60 patients are taking treatment on an average.

MISSION:
To develop a well equipped research centre with Hi-tech diagnostic tools, Andrology lab and developing latest radio-diagnostic tools.
Department is looking forward to develop sections of Manasroga, Vishachikitsa etc. with integrated approach to kayachikitsa
The Department is successful in initiating research activities in the field of oncology, geriatrics, respiratory disorders, metabolic disorders like diabetes, sexual disorders like erectile dysfunction, thyroid abnormalities etc since the establishment of Post graduation Studies.
A guest lecture series from modern faculty is being conducted on an average of twice in a week, aiming the PARATANTRA AVALOKANA.
The calendar of events are priorly planned with an inclusion of Clinical Case discussion, Seminars on relevant topics, as well as the Journal Club, providing an uninterrupted connection to the syllabus curriculum.
A monthly departmental meeting is organised at the end of every month with the esteemed presence of Principal, Head of the department, teaching staff and all the PG scholars for evaluating the monthly activities, discussion for further development and implementation of new ideas for the further growth.
