Taranath Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Bellary was a private institute before 1976. Earlier the college was managed by private trust started in the name of Taranath Ayurveda Vidyapeet. Registered Trust was established by the disciples in the name of Pt.Taranathji. Pandit Taranathji established an institute “Premayatana or Prema VidyaPeet” which was under Madras province on the bank of Tungabadra near Tungabadra village, where he used to preach Ayurveda, Yoga, Music, etc., in the Gurukula style. The Ayurvedic diploma offered by this institute was recognized by then Government of Madras.
Our hospital is one of the famous hospitals in the reason attracting patients from all districts of Hyderabad Karnataka and boarder districts of Andra pradesh. Our hospital is known for Pancha karma treatment.This is all possible because of dedicated services of the all teaching staff, physicians, nursing and other paramedical staff of the hospital.
What is Ayurveda to health is like what religion is to God. Ayurveda is not only related to disease and its remedies but emphasizes the right and healthy way of living. Since the origin of Ayurveda is said to be from Atharva veda, the philosophy of this health system is based on self discipline and balanced outlook. To understand that Ayurveda is an integral part of India and its culture is to further compare the ethos of Hinduism being –not a religion but a way of life and that of Ayurveda being –not a remedial system but a way of healthy living.
